  The 3 Stark Choices of Individual Witnesses

  there's been a lot of comment on this site about witnesses becoming more blind and fanatical and eagerly willing to believe anything the glorious masters of time and space, grand poobah, bright as a labrador retriever, governing frauds tell them.. but it really comes down to 3 stark choices.

  the more reality intrudes on the lives of individual witnesses, the more they will be driven into some combination of these catagories:.

  1) dumber - the most popular choice.

  What is morality? It is a code of values to guide man's choices and actions, the choices and actions that determine the purpose and course of his life.

  So, God is not necessary for morality.

  In search of truth

  now that you have discovered the "truth" is not the truth, do you still believe that a truth exists?

  do you think you have found one, are you still searching or have you given up on the whole idea of an absolute truth?.

  Reasoning helps us know and understand some truth but not all the truth.

  When we examined why we believed the Watchtower had the truth that leads to eternal life our reasoning helped us to understand that this simply not true.

  When we go in search of truth, what exactly are we searching for? I.E. Proof of God's existence? Is it true that God exist's or does not exist, What does our reasoning tell us?

  Each one of us is alone in this search for truth. Some have faith, not based on evidence, that they have found the truth about certain beliefs.

  Some have used their reasoning ability and found that they have evidence concerning certain truths.

  I.E. Looking at the natural creation and reasoning on how it all functions helps some to conclude that there is a creator ( not the Bible version ).

  Others conclude that we just can't know the real truth about a creator. Still others say there is no God and that is their truth. Others live and die in their respective belief systems believing this is the truth.

  Death anxiety plagues us all and so we need to latch on to something to get relief from this kind of anxiety of not knowing if there is life after death or nothing.

  So we dig in and sometimes what we believed was the truth at any given time in our life changes as we experience life in the march toward our own end.

  Just my thoughts I'm sharing, in search of truth.

  Hi Blondie! Thanks for this, feel better and take good care of yourself. If Jehovah is answering prayer in an unpresidented way with increases in congregations and baptisms why not in elders and ministerial positions?

  Why has Jehovah made increases in halls, congregations and baptisms and left off not having people in positions to care for this increase?

  If as the Watchtower is saying in paragraph one is true, then Jehovah has failed to make sure that men would be in place to handle this increase.

  The answer is obvious.

  Hi Metatron! Where would you fit Don Cameron's "Captives of an Illusion?" I like to think that i did not fit the 3 you mention here when I served for 33 years. I believe I was captive to an illusion.

  That is that the few men on the governing body were Jesus's appointed slaves and so we follow whatever they teach.

  The captivity lasted x amount of years for the many intelligent ones that finally escaped by whatever means took away that illusion.

  toward the end of my meeting attendance, i started to pay attention (as best as i could) to what was being said and that was truly the final nail in the coffin.. when you actually decipher the "reasoning" of the "truth", you can't help but see things clearly..

  For Perry: There was no global flood, so stop looking for Noah's Ark

  forget about noahs ark; there was no worldwide flood.

  many people have contacted me about the recent claims by a group called noahs ark ministries international.1 the evangelical organization claims to have discovered noahs ark.2 i have responded on several occasions to these dubious claims on my blog.3 and still, this group has stood behind their claim,4 insisting that what they have found is real based largely on the belief that because the bible says the flood and the ark are historical, it must be so.

  so, instead of addressing their spurious claims yet again, i thought i would approach the issue from a different angle: forget about noahs ark; there was no world-wide flood.. the worldwide flood described in genesis 6-9 is not historical, but rather a combination of at least two flood stories, both of which descended from earlier mesopotamian flood narratives.

  God's forced PLOT point (which just doesn't make sense!)

  the bifurcation of christianity's dealing with the "plot" that drives god's "plan" is never more explicitly revealed as not logically reasoned out than when it comes to the "good" and the "evil" being judged.. what is the point in judging "evil" if god is going to simply call the same sinful, imperfect man "good" who confesses christ?.

  it makes about as much sense as putting a zero on top of a zero and calling it 8.. justification is nothing more than calling evil "good" by reframing the context.

  sin kills man.

  You remind of another plot. The Passover plot. Jesus did not die on the cross etc. interesting read.

  Yes it is what it is.

  Hi Michelle! I thought that God created perfect humans without other characteristics. There was no goatly or sheeply chararacterics in his creation. Humans were made in the image and likeness of God and he don't have those kinds of characteristics in his makeup. Am I understanding you correctly.

  Why Trust the Bible?

  there have been numerous posts and threads on jwn about why a rational person should re-think trust in the bible as the inspired and inerrant word of god.

  these are usually based on clear and logical thinking and reasoning.. the wts and other religious entities have published tracts and books to convince people that the bible is indeed the inspired and inerrant word of god.

  these are usually based on circular and fallacious thinking and reasoning.

  BTS, If our heart loves good, we will all find the way.. Even with my doubts, I have always felt that "THE WAY" you speak of is found in the two greatest commamdments uttered by Jesus, if you believe it. Love God and your neighbor, with all your heart! For if one follows this you will not do harm to your neighbor and the love for God will attach yourself to him forever.

  in the new dvd governing body member david splane discusses the fact that the bible students did not simply disappear after russell died in 1916. he says this is because jehovah had already chosen the organization to do his work.. this is not a work of man, this is a work of jehovah god.

  it's evident that jehovah had already chosen this organization, because of the faithfulness and the sincerity of the men behind it.

  it's obvious that jehovah had already chosen this organization to get his work done.
